It was time to hit the road again and head to the French Alps...
After a bumper season in Europe we were looking forward to some blue bird park laps. This ended when the french police stopped us and forced us to buy snow chains for the van. After buying the wrong size and taking an hour to figure it out another £250 was shelled out to travel the last few miles.
If you have not ventured to Avoriaz it nestles above Morzine and is a car free resort. Every hotel is ski in ski out and taxis are a horse and cart. Phoning and saying you ordered a horse where is it is a bit weird. This is the home of Snowboxx. Europes premier music festival set i the mountains. As official merchandise suppliers we get to ride all day then stand and freeze our asses off in a gazebo for the next 10 hours.
The plus side is amazing people and awesome acts. this years included Chase and Status and Fat Boy Slim. First day was a powder day and we hit up the stash park where all the features are made out of local wood. Over sized picnic tables massive wall rides and drops are littered throughout the tree runs and it reminded us why Snowboxx keeps coming back here. Fat boy played as the snow dumped and after a few days we started to pray for sun. The big man didn't let us down so we headed over to Switzerland to try out some park laps there. In total you have access to 5 parks in and around Avoriaz so it's a knuckle draggers wet dream. If you snowblade what are you doing on this site get off.
Check out the Snowboxx website to see the dates for the year ahead you will not be disappointed
