HOMETOWN: Edinburgh
ABOUT
In a digital world of hip hop, The Ordinary Allstars are the analogue antidote. Bringing a fresh, vibrant sound with their live band, they draw on a broad range of musical influences to create their own infectious brand of hip hop. With a strong set list of groove-driven, unashamedly feel-good songs, look out for likely singles ‘I See’, ‘Pretty Lady’ and crowd favourite ‘I Don’t Like Hip Hop’. The Ordinary Allstars take to the stage with MC Hasta on vocals, Benofficial on bass, B Burg on guitar, Fuzz on drums and Johnny Drama on backing vocals. They are also joined by a three-piece brass section wherever possible.
Based in Edinburgh, The Ordinary Allstars are the creation of vocalist MC Hasta, and drummer/producer Fuzz. Friends before beginning to work together, a songwriting partnership developed as they began to write, and created the blueprint for The Ordinary Allstars - a lively, upbeat, musical hip hop project. With the songs written, they needed to put together the band to take it live. Calling on friends B Burg and Benofficial for guitar and bass, both formerly of jazz hip hop fusion Livesciences, and Johnny Drama for additional live vocals, The Ordinary Allstars took shape as the core five-piece band with a multi-track player with their recorded brass. Always envisioning scaling up, they now add the brass section in live where they can and, in either format, never fail to take a real energy to the stage in their dynamic live show.
